The Opportunity

The Department of Paramedicine has proudly partnered with Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) since 1999 and currently has a tender to deliver comprehensive first aid and emergency medical response (EMR) training. We are seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Lecturer to join our dynamic team and play a key role in supporting high-quality medical first response across Victoria.

In this role, you will train firefighters, first responders and FRV recruits, delivering classroom-based programs, collaborating with fellow instructors and managing associated administrative tasks. This is a position that will allow you to balance team teaching with independent initiative, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with personnel at all levels of the fire service.

This position offers a unique combination of teaching and research, providing opportunities to design flexible education programs and contribute to the broader strategic direction of our department. Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Paramedicine and a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (TAE) — or be willing to complete this qualification.

If you are ready to empower fire services and shape the future of emergency medical response training, we encourage you to apply!

Monash University seeks applicants for this opportunity who are able to demonstrate and present valid and current Australian work rights.
