The Opportunity
The Research Fellow will contribute to an Australian Research Council funded Discovery Project entitled An Empirical Study of Agenda Setting in the High Court of Australia, playing a key role in producing rigorous, high-quality research and supporting the broader objectives of the team and institution. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to research in both collaborative and independent settings.
Responsibilities include conducting research, producing publications and conference papers and engaging in professional activities such as seminars and conferences. The Research Fellow will also assist with administrative and coordination tasks for research projects and participate in relevant research meetings.
As the successful candidate, you will have a Ph.D, or be close to completing a Ph.D, in economics, political science, law or allied area. You will demonstrate advanced expertise in quantitative and/or qualitative research methods, with proven experience in handling and analysing large datasets. You will be proficient in statistical software, such as R or Stata, and be capable of conducting independent research while collaborating effectively within interdisciplinary teams. You will possess strong organisational skills to set and achieve research goals, coupled with excellent written and verbal communication and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues.
An interest in pursuing empirical legal or socio-legal research is highly desirable.
