The Opportunity

Join a commercially focused research and engineering team delivering real-world impact to the global mining industry.

The Maintenance Technology Institute (MTI) at Monash University has partnered with industry leaders including BHP, Rio Tinto, Glencore, and Anglo American since 2000—providing high-level engineering consulting, design, and applied research on heavy mining equipment.

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain application software that supports advanced engineering solutions, while contributing to consulting projects and applied research initiatives. You’ll also play a key role in system enhancements, version updates, and supporting end users across the organisation.

About you:

  • Degree in Computer Systems or Software Engineering (or related discipline)
  • Experience in software development, including WPF and ASP.NET Core
  • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular and React
  • Experience with reporting tools (e.g. SSRS)
  • Strong customer focus with a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach
