The Opportunity
Are you ready to shape the future of identity and authentication at a global scale?
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Active Directory Engineer to play a pivotal role in shaping and supporting Monash University’s global Core Authentication Services environment. Working across both on-premise and cloud platforms, you’ll design, enhance and maintain critical identity, authentication and authorisation services that enable the organisation’s technology ecosystem.
You’ll work across a diverse Microsoft technology landscape, delivering new services, infrastructure upgrades and lifecycle improvements while providing expert technical guidance and third-level support. With the opportunity to contribute to architecture and design, you’ll help strengthen the reliability, resilience and security of authentication services while collaborating with system administrators, support teams and technical stakeholders across the organisation.
Focused on innovation and continuous improvement, you’ll also contribute to technology standards, testing strategies, automation, documentation and the adoption of emerging Microsoft technologies. This is a role where you can bring your expertise, influence meaningful change and help shape services relied upon across a truly global environment.
About You

Strong technical expertise across Microsoft Active Directory, Active Directory Certificate Services, Entra ID, Azure, AWS, SQL, NPS and related Microsoft server technologies.

Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, configuring and maintaining Microsoft server environments across on-premise and cloud platforms.

Strong Windows Server administration and management capabilities, with experience supporting highly available and business-critical authentication services.

Excellent analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.

Experience developing policies, procedures, standards and technical documentation to support operational environments.

Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to provide authoritative technical advice and explain complex concepts clearly and succinctly.

Developed PowerShell scripting skills, with the ability to leverage automation and scripting to improve efficiency, consistency and service management
