The Opportunity

Global Immersion Guarantee (GIG) are pleased to invite applications for a Senior Lecturer (Education-Focused) or a Lecturer (Education-Focused).

The position will be part of a team driving an arm of the Rich Experiences division in alignment with the Monash University strategic plan – Impact 2030. Focusing on in-curriculum and extra-curricular experiences that foster deep engagement across disciplines, organisations, locations and cultures, the Rich Experiences initiative aims to develop and enhance the capabilities of a generation of innovative graduates.

As the successful candidate you will be responsible for contributing to the design and delivery of the Global Immersion Guarantee (GIG) — a fieldwork elective unit worth 12 credit points, that takes Monash Australia students to one of nine countries at the end of their first year. The global immersion experience gives students the opportunity to develop their intercultural competency, global outlook, and employability. The position will collaborate with faculties to deliver on the program’s strategic outcomes. In addition, this role will be expected to contribute where needed in the support of the Rich Experiences program of activities more broadly.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong educational background or substantial relevant skills and work experience. The role requires a doctoral qualification or equivalent research and teaching experience. In determining experience relative to qualifications, regard is had to teaching experience, experience in research, experience outside tertiary education, creative achievement, professional contributions and/or contributions to technical achievement.
