The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Lecturer (Practice) to join the North West Victoria Regional Training Hub and support high-quality medical education and workforce development across rural communities. The role will create opportunities for medical training, fostering graduates equipped for rural generalist, and contribute to clinical care, teaching, supervision, mentoring, and leadership to strengthen the regional medical workforce.

The role works closely with stakeholders to expand GP registrar and junior doctor training across hospitals and community services, providing practical rural generalist experience. The Senior Lecturer (Practice) will guide students, junior doctors, and supervisors, while building networks with professional bodies, industry, and government to support training pathways and practical engagement in rural general practice.

We are seeking someone with a fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and/or Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) registration with unrestricted AHPRA registration and have experience in teaching, supervision, mentoring and leadership in rural healthcare. The role also involves project management, innovation and participation in research or quality improvement.
