Role Purpose
This position forms part of the Business Services Laos team reporting to the Purchasing Supervisor. The role will be responsible for all assigned purchasing activities, order placement, and expediting.
Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Participate in continuous improvement strategies in relation to purchasing activities.
- Processing of Purchase Requisitions in accordance with the service level commitments (SLC).
- Utilize the 5 rights of purchasing methodology when processing purchase orders to meet customer’s requirements, these are:
- Time
- Place
- Quality
- Quantity
- Price
- Ensure work is carried out in a way which maintains and promotes MMG’s reputation with stakeholders.
- Escalate any issues that can’t be resolved as per the escalation model.
- Confirm purchase order has been received by vendor and update order acknowledgement within ERP (SAP system).
- Daily expediting of purchase orders as per vendor delivery dates.
- Update purchase order delivery dates on ERP and advise customers of any delays.
- Co-ordinate with Accounts Payable to pay vendors as per agreed payment term.
- Action any enquiries from vendors, customers and other relevant parties in accordance with the SLC.
- To ensure integrity of data, identify when changes to master data are required and change utilizing the internal processes.
- Request customers to ANCI (Authorization of New Catalogued Item) any materials that have been purchased via ‘free text’ more than once.

Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years experiences in Purchasing with prior experience using SAP is desirable
- Solid experience in Purchasing/Inventory
- Demonstrated ability to apply sound judgement, problem solving and analytical skills
- Data entry experience
- Proven negotiating and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively with vendors
Education:
- A diploma qualification, preferably in Business Administration, Materials Management, or any related areas from a recognized institution
- Global Business Services / Shared Services professional certification
