We have an exciting opportunity for a Packaging Technologist to join our Technical Team at Tullamarine. This role offers exposure across Asahi Beverages’ alcohol and non-alcohol operations, so you couldn’t be closer to the action. You’ll work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and bring a positive “can-do” attitude to help achieve our commercial and financial goals.

You’ll join a team of beverage packaging experts who openly share knowledge and tackle technical challenges together. Curiosity, initiative, and a hands-on approach will see you thrive in this fast-paced role.

Please note: This is a fixed 12-month contract that will involve travel to multiple sites nationally so it’s not your average 9-to-5 gig.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Packaging Manager, you’ll support the delivery of multiple New Product Development (NPD) initiatives while leading projects across our packaging portfolio. You’ll have ownership of packaging materials and operations projects, working closely with site teams and stakeholders.

Other key responsibilities include:

• Leading the development, delivery, and optimisation of packaging solutions across our beverage portfolio
• Developing and implementing structured, prioritised packaging plans to support key projects
• Providing technical support to production and quality teams
• Collaborating with Marketing on NPD projects and Procurement on value optimisation initiatives
• Designing, running, and reporting on packaging trials
• Partnering with operations and suppliers to deliver optimal business outcomes
• Driving packaging innovation from concept through to commercialisation

About You

You’re a technically minded problem-solver with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation in FMCG manufacturing. You thrive on turning ideas into reality through hands-on packaging development activities and projects that drive quality, efficiency, and commercial success.

Ideally, you will:

• Hold tertiary qualifications in Science or Engineering
• Demonstrate strong technical curiosity and an eye for detail
• Bring practical experience in packaging development and project delivery within a manufacturing or FMCG environment
• Communicate effectively and build strong cross-functional relationships
• Proficiency in SAP, MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint highly regarded
• Bring experience or exposure to quality systems and technical documentation
