Your Impact
As Assistant Brewmaster, you’ll play a key role in shaping brewing performance by providing technical leadership, coaching teams and optimising brewing processes across the site. Working closely with the Brewing Manager and Team Leaders, you’ll help ensure brewing operations run safely, consistently and to the highest quality standards.
You’ll be a trusted technical expert, supporting problem solving, process improvement and capability building within the brewing team. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys being hands‑on, developing people, and driving continuous improvement in a complex manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise to brewing teams to optimise process performance and quality outcomes.
- Lead and support the Team Leader group, coaching and developing capability across shifts.
- Own brewing standards, SOPs and work instructions, ensuring processes remain in control.
- Analyse brewing performance data, trends and key measures to identify improvement opportunities.
- Support and lead trials, process changes and technical projects within the brewing area.
- Facilitate effective problem solving and decision making with shift teams.
- Deliver training across brewing fundamentals, hygiene and quality practices.
- Promote strong team communication, engagement and collaboration.
- Champion health, safety and environmental practices, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
About You
You’re a technically capable brewing professional who enjoys working closely with teams to improve performance and build confidence on the floor. You balance technical depth with a collaborative leadership style and are comfortable guiding others through change.
You’ll bring:
- Experience in a brewing, with exposure to people leadership.
- Strong technical understanding of brewing processes and quality controls.
- A practical approach to problem solving, data analysis and process optimisation.
- Confidence coaching and mentoring Team Leaders and operators.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement and change management in an operational setting.
- An IBD Qualification is required (Additional Qualifications in food technology, science or engineering will be well regarded)
