Overview

Joining the Emergency Department/Acute Services team, you will contribute to the provision of person-centred care within the Southern Fleurieu Health Service in Victor Harbor. Maintaining cooperative and productive working relationships with all members of the Emergency Care and Acute Services team, you will implement appropriate nursing care and assist with general and specialised procedures from nursing care plans. You will provide verbal and documented information within your scope of practice to patients, other health care team members, and members of the public. As a Registered Nurse, you will be expected to provide support and guidance to newer or less experienced staff, Enrolled Nurses and student nurses. Make a real difference and feel like an important part of the community. South Coast District Hospital provides a comprehensive range of medical and surgical services to patients from across the Fleurieu Peninsula and surrounding communities. Our hospital provides 24-hour emergency care and acute inpatient medical and surgical services. For appointment at the ENC/END level, you will be eligible for enrolment as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold a current practicing certificate. For appointment at the RN/RM1 level, you will be eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold a current practicing certificate. With experience within the boundaries of your education and skill preparation, you will be capable of providing nursing care in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice. Your effective verbal and written communication skills will enable you to work well within a multidisciplinary team environment.
