About the role: 

Enjoy the opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging health environment within one of SA Health sites. The SA & NT Teaching Hospitals Rotational Training Scheme coordinates the rotation of Anaesthesia trainees to support the trainee in completing the Specialist training requirements of ANZCA.

This multi-skilled role offers responsibility, challenge, and the opportunity to be part of a dynamic, enthusiastic multidisciplinary team. You will deliver professional clinical anaesthesia and related services to both inpatients and outpatients, in line with the standards set by ANZCA and SA Health.

This is an exceptional opportunity to gain extensive experience in a specialised area, where you will enjoy supervision and training provided in collaboration with Supervisors of Training to support the completion of your Specialist Training.

About you:

It is essential that you hold a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, and be registered with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration. Additionally, you must be eligible for registration with ANZCA as an anaesthesia trainee. Enjoying collaboration within a multidisciplinary environment, you will showcase excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building strong relationships with colleagues and other professional staff. With drive, initiative, and strong teaching abilities, you will serve as a role model for medical students and junior medical staff.

The training in anaesthesia encourages and supports teaching and research. The Flinders Medical Centre, Noarlunga Public Hospital, Repatriation General Hospital, Northern Adelaide Local Health Service, comprising Lyell McEwin Hospital and Modbury Public Hospital, Mount Gambier Hospital, Royal Adelaide Hospital, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Women's and Children's Hospital and Royal Darwin Hospital are each accredited for advanced training in anaesthesia. The sites work collaboratively to offer a range of opportunities for introductory, basic and advanced trainees.
