Lecturer or Associate Lecturer in Engineering Teaching Focused – Full Time, Continuing
La Trobe University is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Lecturer Level B or Associate Lecturer Level A in Engineering Teaching Focused to join our Department of Engineering within the School of Computing, Engineering, and Mathematical Sciences. This is a unique opportunity for an academic passionate about delivering high quality, student centred learning experiences and contributing to curriculum development in an expanding and dynamic department.
About the Role
As a Lecturer Level B or Associate Lecturer Level A, you will play a pivotal role in delivering and enhancing our engineering education programs. You will
- Design and deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and workshops in online, blended, or face to face modes
- Innovate and contribute to curriculum development and teaching methodologies
- Provide mentorship and supervision to students, including Honours and Masters coursework students for Level B
- Engage with the Scholarship of Learning and Teaching SOLT to enhance student outcomes
- Collaborate with academic and industry partners to improve engineering education
- Contribute to the department’s learning and teaching initiatives and secure funding for projects where applicable
Who We’re Looking For
Essential for Both Levels
- PhD or demonstrate equivalent professional experience and academic standing.
- Experience in teaching, curriculum development, and subject coordination
- Strong knowledge of soft engineering skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem solving
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and students from diverse backgrounds
Additional for Level B
- Demonstrated leadership in teaching innovation and curriculum development
- Experience supervising Honours and Masters students
