We are reducing the overall use of academic casual employment and providing meaningful pathways for casual academic staff to ongoing academic employment through our casual consolidation project.
To be eligible, you must (a) Have casual experience totalling at least two (2) teaching sessions at La Trobe University in the previous two (2) years; (b) Have not held a continuing position in a university in the previous three (3) years.
About the Role
Join La Trobe Business School as a Lecturer in Human Resources Management, where you'll be instrumental in developing and delivering high-quality curriculum that engages and enriches the student experience. This role requires a focus on teaching, allowing you to coordinate and deliver lectures, seminars, and practical classes. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with industry, contribute to research, and enhance learning and teaching within your discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate engaging learning experiences through tutorials, workshops, and field excursions.
- Innovate in course-level curriculum design and evaluation.
- Contribute to La Trobe’s Scholarship of Learning and Teaching (SoLT) by participating in research and sharing best practices.
- Collaborate on projects to secure internal or external funding for teaching improvements.
- Support postgraduate students in co-supervision as required.
- Represent La Trobe Business School at external events.
About You
- PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
- Proven experience in teaching, curriculum development, and student engagement.
- Proven experience in teaching and or professional experience in HRM and or Employee Relations (including Employment Relations and or Human Resource Analytics).
- Demonstrated innovation in improving the student experience.
- Ability to secure funding for teaching and learning initiatives.
- Strong communication skills, effective in diverse settings.
