About the Role
La Trobe University is seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader to join the Health and Wellbeing Centre, part of our Wellbeing Services team within the Student Experience and Employability Division. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the day-to-day operations of a vibrant and supportive multi-team hub designed to foster the health and wellbeing of our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a diverse team of clinical and non-clinical staff, including intake, financial counselling, student legal services, and more.
- Oversee the daily operations of the Health and Wellbeing Centre, ensuring high-quality service delivery across campuses.
- Provide clinical supervision for staff, as well as intake, triage, and risk assessment for students accessing Wellbeing Services.
- Develop and implement a student clinical placement program for social work and psychology students.
- Foster collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance service visibility and accessibility.
- Support students in distress and coordinate crisis intervention where needed.
- Contribute to strategic planning and continuous service improvement initiatives.

You will bring strong leadership, management, and clinical expertise, with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team. Your advanced interpersonal skills will enable you to negotiate, influence, and build meaningful relationships. You are innovative and proactive, with a commitment to fostering inclusivity and delivering impactful wellbeing services.
Essential Criteria
- Qualifications in Social Work or Psychology and eligibility/membership with AASW or AHPRA.
- Extensive experience in mental health, wellbeing services, intake/triage, case management, and risk assessment.
- Proven leadership and management experience in clinical and non-clinical environments.
- Demonstrated ability to implement innovative solutions and manage complex psychosocial issues.
- Advanced knowledge of trauma-informed and victim-centered practices.
- A valid Victorian Working With Children Check or willingness to obtain one.
