About the position

As a Level A Associate Lecturer with a teaching-focused appointment, you will play a vital role in curriculum development, assist with subject coordination, teaching, assessment, and student support. Your responsibilities also include assisting with the administrative functions within the discipline and department, engaging in scholarly work relevant to the scholarship of learning and teaching, and providing academic support for departmental subjects. This may involve overseeing subject tutors, coordinating subjects, managing timetables and reporting, as well as supporting teaching and marking activities.

Guided by subject coordinators, you will deliver high-quality learning experiences through lectures, tutorials, and workshops, whether in-person, online, or blended modes. You will contribute to subject coordination activities, offer timely and constructive feedback to students, and engage in innovative subject and curriculum design and review. Emphasizing evidence-based approaches, you will evaluate initiatives to enhance the student experience and share best practices as part of La Trobe’s Scholarship of Learning and Teaching (SOLT) community. Additionally, you will foster knowledge transfer, build local relationships, and undertake duties and administrative functions as required by senior academic staff.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you must have completed a Bachelor Honours degree (or Grad Cert/Grad Diploma; AQF level 8) in a relevant discipline.  You will have demonstrated effective teaching and curriculum development skills across various delivery modes, and possess strong communication abilities for working with diverse staff and students.  Experience with administrative systems, evidence of innovative initiatives that enhance student experience, teamwork skills, and engagement with the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning are also required.
