About the position

This identified Indigenous role is designated for an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander academic with demonstrated expertise in teacher education and Indigenous education. This senior academic appointment is established to amplify Indigenous knowledge systems and perspectives across the school’s teaching, research and partnership agenda.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in:

  • Enhancing the quality and cultural responsiveness of initial teacher education programs.
  • Leading high-impact research in Indigenous education.
  • Building sustainable pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and educators.

You will lead by example as a high-quality teacher and researcher, mentor colleagues and contribute to institutional change in line with La Trobe’s commitment to truth-telling and reconciliation. The role will involve travel across La Trobe campuses to foster collaboration and engagement.
