  • Base salary from $139,792 + 17% superannuation

The Academic Lead, Clinical Simulation is responsible for advancing high-quality, evidence-based simulation education across the four health schools within the HPCEU. This role involves mapping and innovating simulation activities, leading the integration of AI and quality standards into curricula, and mentoring staff in designing engaging learning experiences. The incumbent also supports educator development, fosters interprofessional learning, and leads research in clinical simulation. Additionally, the Academic Lead contributes to building a culture of teaching excellence, participates in scholarly activities, secures funding for educational initiatives, and supervises Honours and Masters students.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • a PhD degree or equivalent accreditation and standing recognised as appropriate for the position.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, curriculum development and subject coordination in face-to-face, blended and/or online modes
  • Demonstrated ability to obtain funding for learning and teaching improvement projects from internal or external grants/contracts/consultancies
  • Demonstrated evidence of innovative initiatives undertaken in the last three years that have improved the student experience, and the evaluation of effectiveness of these initiatives
  • Demonstrated evidence of use of AI in teaching or health and the ability to influence the teaching practice of others
  • Ability to produce pedagogic research outputs related to the Scholarship of Learning and Teaching, particularly in the field of clinical simulation-based education
  • Demonstrated experience in development and delivery of effective simulation-based education in a health-related context
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary issues and emerging technologies in clinical simulation-based education across health care.
  • Demonstrated expertise in evaluating educational interventions, innovations and simulation technologies
