As a result of an internal promotion, an opportunity exists for a site based Environment and Stakeholder Advisor to coordinate the implementation of environmental planning approvals and environmental management systems for the Marulan South Limestone Mine, and associated Lime Kiln and secondary support to the adjacent Peppertree Quarry. The position will also take the lead in relation to engaging with government agencies, the local community and other relevant stakeholders for day-to-day site matters.

Your day will involve:

  • Provide leadership and support to the mine and kiln management teams and operations to enable compliance with conditions of consent, the Environment Protection Licence and managing expectations of stakeholders
  • Provide regular updates to the mine management teams on the progress of continuous improvement, assurance and compliance activities through the use of the Environmental Permit Planner and compliance reporting
  • Coordinate the implementation and review of the Environmental Management Strategy for Marulan South and assist and support in the delivery of the production strategy in relation to environmental performance
  • Coordinate the implementation of environmental monitoring programs, including: blasting, noise, air quality, surface and groundwater
  • Carry out audits of the site Environmental Permit Planner and inspections of site operations to assess compliance with systems, management plans, planning approvals and statutory obligations.
  • Facilitate regulatory reporting requirements and develop effective relationships with key environmental regulator representatives at both officer and senior levels.

What are we looking for?

  • Tertiary level qualification in Environmental management or related field, including Natural Resource Management, Engineering or Science;
  • Full drivers licence;
  • HSE Systems Auditing Qualification (desirable);
  • Experience in a similar role (preferably within the mining or extractive industry or within a consulting environment);
  • Demonstrated experience in the implementation of environmental policy, systems, plans and programs;
  • Good knowledge of environmental and planning legislation in NSW.
