We are seeking a skilled and experienced Logistics Manager to join our Quarries team in Port Melbourne. In this role, you will oversee our logistics operations, responsible for designing and implementing our logistics strategy while ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of our fleet for timely deliveries to our customers.

Your day will involve:

  • Compliance and Safety: Champion safety standards and regulatory compliance within the logistics function. This includes ensuring adherence to Chain of Responsibility (COR) regulations, fatigue management, and all relevant internal and external guidelines.
  • Resource Optimization: Strategically manage and optimise HRV resources across our Quarry operations. This involves balancing the needs of company vehicles, contractors, and sub-contractors to achieve the highest levels of efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, fleet utilization, financial performance, and operational effectiveness. Use this data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Improvement Planning: Develop and lead logistics performance improvement initiatives. Create and implement strategic plans to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and cost management.
  • Leadership Support:  Act as the Logistics Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the business unit. Provide expert guidance and support to the General Manager and Leadership team, contributing to strategic decision-making and operational excellence.

What Are We Looking For?

  • Proven experience in a Senior Logistics Management role with extensive operational responsibilities and scale.
  • In-depth knowledge of heavy vehicle operations legislation and regulations (COR, fatigue management, PBS).
  • Degree in Logistics or a related field (preferred).
  • Track record of enhancing safety, asset optimisation, utilisation, and reducing cost per operating hour.
  • Strong financial literacy, commercial acumen, and leadership capabilities.
