Situated in our Ormeau Quarries, we are on the lookout for a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as a Laboratory Technician in the Quarries sector!

In this role, working independently and reporting to the Quarry Manager, you will be engaged in a variety of tasks, including sampling, testing, training, supervision, record maintenance, and reporting results for our diverse range of quarry-related products.

Your day will involve: 

  • Conduct collection of Quarry samples on site
  • Conduct testing in accordance with laboratory work instructions, test methods, preparation instructions, and manuals.
  • Calibrate laboratory equipment as required.
  • Maintain, observe, and take part in the statutory safety requirements of the Laboratory operations
  • Complete Monthly Belt Cuts for sampling on production materials as required 

What are we looking for? 

  • Safe Work Priority - a commitment to safety and quality
  • Experience as a raw material tester would be an advantage
  • Well-developed skills and understanding of computer systems for monitoring and reporting data (especially with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel)
  • An ability to cope with competing priorities and deadlines
  • Knowledge of Australian and Industry standards
