Join Boral as a Lime Mine Engineer at our Marulan site in a 12-month fixed-term position, covering a maternity leave contract. This is a permanent full-time opportunity, where you’ll contribute to the ongoing success of our limestone mining operations supporting our Berrima cement business.
Whether you're an experienced professional or an early-career engineer looking to take the next step, this role offers valuable exposure to mine planning, production oversight, and cross-functional collaboration—backed by training and support.
Your day will involve:
- Lead weekly planning activities, including drill and blast planning
- Contribute to or lead long-term mine planning and mine design (depending on experience)
- Prepare and deliver monthly production reconciliations: plan vs. Actual
- Manage overburden (waste) removal operations using internal and external mining contractors
- Organise and coordinate mine surveys to ensure mining is in line with design
- Collaborate with laboratory teams and support quality control and continuous improvement initiatives
- Liaise with environmental and compliance teams to ensure mine activities meet regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant mining operations.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mining Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering
- Proficiency in Excel and solid computer literacy
- Experience with Surpac or similar block modelling and mine design software highly regarded
- Strong communication and planning skills
- Valid Driver’s Licence – travel to the pit is required
- A mindset for continuous improvement and cost efficiency
- Ability to work effectively across technical and production teams
