Due to continued growth across our business, we now have a great opportunity available for an experienced Plant Fitter to join our team in Cairns.
Your primary responsibility in this role will be to manage and carry out repairs and maintenance of our Portsmith Asphalt Plant. This role will require you to be available to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends and be available to travel to various Asphalt plants across the Northern QLD region to support operational requirements.
Your day will involve:
- Working independently, consulting with Asset and Production teams on prioritization of tasks
- Ensure that the manufacturing plant complies with relevant safety standards
- Complete programmed maintenance tasks
- Ensure all relevant permits and safety paperwork is in place before commencement of tasks
- Contractor & labour supervision onsite
- Complete daily plant inspections
- Available to participate in plant shutdown programs
What are we looking for?
- Trade Qualified Fitter
- Previous maintenance fitter experience in a fixed plant environment
- Strong welding and fabrication skills and knowledge
- Experience replacing motors, gear boxes and bearings
- Strong commitment to all areas of safety
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Available to work across day and night shifts as required
