An opportunity exists for a Production Manager for Boral’s Marulan Limestone Mine located in the Southern Highlands of NSW. Boral’s prized upstream cement business is an important supplier for our downstream businesses and external customers.

As the key people leader for the Production function, the Production Manager is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of mining operations at a 2.3 Mtpa limestone production mine and a 4.0 Mtpa overburden removal operation. Reporting to the Site Manager, this role ensures safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of production targets while maintaining compliance with statutory requirements and environmental standards. The position oversees a workforce of 50 direct reports and up to 20 contractors indirectly, managing multiple operational streams including overburden removal, load and haul, drill and blast, crushing and screening, road and rail dispatch.

Your day will involve:

  • Act as the NSW Practicing Certificate Statutory Mine Holder, ensuring compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive a strong safety culture through proactive risk management and adherence to WHS Legislation, standards and Boral standards and Guidelines.
  • Maintain environmental compliance and implement sustainable mining practices.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute daily mining operations to achieve production and overburden removal targets.
  • Manage and optimize load and haul, drill and blast, crushing and screening, and dispatch activities.
  • Ensure effective scheduling and resource allocation across all operational areas.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of employees and oversee contractors.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What are we looking for?

  • NSW Practicing Statutory Mine Holder certification is preferred.
  • Tertiary Qualifications: Diploma, Advanced Diploma in Surface Extraction will be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated experience in open-cut mining operations, with a proven track record in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of load and haul, drill and blast, crushing and screening processes.
  • Proven ability to manage large teams and contractors in a complex operational and unionised environment.
  • Strong financial literacy with full P & L accountability in previous roles
  • A bias for action, strong safety focus and ability to positively influence trust and confidence in working relationships.
