As a Batcher/Plant Operator based at our Chinderah plant, you'll play an important role in producing quality concrete and supporting the day-to-day operations of the plant. Working as part of a supportive team, you'll learn how to batch concrete to customer specifications, operate plant equipment and help ensure orders are delivered safely, efficiently and on time.
Depending on your skills and experience, you'll be involved in a variety of activities including batching concrete to order, operating fixed and mobile plant, monitoring production processes, stock control, cleaning and yard duties and working collaboratively with your team to maintain a safe and efficient operation. As your skills grow, you'll have opportunities to develop your career with Boral. We'll provide the training and support needed to develop your skills in concrete batching.
Your day will involve:
- Accurate batching of orders to specified mix designs with dedicated programs and systems
- Safe operation of front-end loader to weigh up materials for batching
- Managing day-to-day administration including stock control of raw materials and monthly forecasts
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised plant environment
- Operating a front-end loader where required (training can be provided)
- Participation in safety initiatives including pre-starts, toolboxes and incident reporting
- General yard housekeeping and maintenance
What are we looking for?
- Interest in building a career within the concrete industry, with full training provided
- Experience in a hands-on operational, manufacturing, transport or construction environment desirable
- Sound computer skills working with multiple systems and safety reporting
- Flexibility and willingness to cover several responsibilities across the plant as required
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Commitment to maintaining a safe workplace and positive team culture
- Front-end loader ticket (desirable but not essential)
