Boral is well along the path to having one of the lowest carbon cement footprints in Australia. We are reducing carbon emissions through innovative processes and alternative materials. Having secured government grants to further decarbonise cement production by expanding the use of alternative materials, we are rolling out a major capital project with multiple streams at our Berrima Cement Works.

We are seeking 3 Project Managers for 20 month fixed term projects until June 2028 to lead the following project streams:

  • Project Manager – Alternative Fuel Systems - responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of Alternative Fuels (AF) front‑end systems and calciner optimisation works at Berrima Cement Works.
  • Project Manager - Electrical Power, Controls and Integration – responsible for the delivery of electrical infrastructure upgrades and plant‑wide electrical and control system integration across the Alternative Fuels (AF) and Alternative Raw Materials (ARM) projects at Berrima Cement Works.
  • Project Manager - Slag Grinding (Alternative Raw Materials) - responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of the slag grinding circuit as part of the Alternative Raw Materials (ARM) programme at Berrima Cement Works.

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, these are 20 month fixed term contracts based on site at New Berrima, NSW.

Your day will involve:

  • Project Management & delivery: Deliver project scope in line with approved project objectives (scope, schedule, cost and quality) identifying and managing project risks and mitigation measures
  • Construction & Commissioning: Manage scope through construction, installation, commissioning and operational handover including managing shutdowns, tie-ins and integration works
  • Contractor Management: Manage OEMs, EPC contractors and construction contractors
  • Interface Management: Coordinate interfaces across mechanical, civil, structural, electrical and process systems
  • Safety Leadership: Ensure safe execution of all works in a live plant environment
  • Stakeholder and Interface Management : Ensure alignment between project delivery, engineering, site operations teams and contractor stakeholders
  • Communication, Reporting and Governance : Maintain transparent and disciplined project governance and stakeholder communication including project reporting and audit.

What are we looking for?

  • Demonstrated experience in project delivery within heavy industry, construction, recycling, waste or industrial processing
  • Demonstrated experience managing capital projects in the order of ~$5M, ideally in multi‑year and multi‑discipline environments
  • Proven ability to coordinate contractors and deliver work within a live or brownfield operating environment
  • Experience delivering projects involving mechanical, process and/or material handling systems
  • Strong project management capability, including scheduling, cost control and risk management
