Construction Manager

Division: Boral Constr Mat Limited
Department: OVERHEAD CMC
Work type: Fixed term - full time
Location: Brisbane

Your next opportunity:

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager in the Assets and Capital Projects team, the Construction Project Manager leads onsite delivery and acts as Boral's primary representative during construction of key sites in the Silo Upgrade Program.

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role: managing contractors and subcontractors, enforcing strict safety and permit-to-work systems, leading toolbox talks, and engaging operations to minimise disruption to production. You'll also support planning, technical coordination and progress reporting with the Capital Projects team. It suits someone comfortable working in a live operational environment.

Your day will involve:

  • Leading site-based delivery of a project from pre-construction through mobilisation, construction, commissioning and handover.
  • Planning and coordinating multi-disciplinary construction activities to meet schedule, cost and quality outcomes.
  • Supervising contractors and subcontractors daily — resolving issues and enforcing contractual and safety requirements.
  • Managing schedule coordination, cost and variations, risk and quality control.
  • Building strong relationships with site operations, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinating inspections, testing, defect rectification and handover documentation.
  • Supporting procurement and contract administration, from scopes of work and tender evaluations through to contractor completion.

What are we looking for?

  • Proven on-site construction delivery on capital projects, ideally in industrial, materials handling or heavy manufacturing.
  • Experience managing contractors and subcontractors across safety, quality, schedule and site performance.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or a related discipline — or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of construction execution in live operational or brownfield environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills across operations, contractors and internal teams.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and scopes, and work with designers, engineers and suppliers to resolve site issues.
  • Experience with schedule coordination, cost and variation management, and risk control (desirable).
