  • Base salary range: $80,243 – $88,940 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area
College Services delivers academic and technical support to UWA’s schools, enabling excellence in teaching and research. The Technical Services team supports a wide range of life sciences disciplines including gross anatomy, physiology, optometry, and sports science. The team contributes to high-quality learning outcomes through lab and fieldwork support, equipment maintenance, workshop design, and promoting a strong culture of safety and compliance.

This role is based primarily in the Anatomy and Physiology Training laboratories supporting teaching and learning in Physiology and Sport Science.

About the opportunity

  • Provide discipline-specific technical support to academic staff, students, and researchers.
  • Set up, maintain, and optimise laboratory equipment, materials, and procedures.
  • Support compliance with safety protocols, training, and regulatory documentation.

Working Pattern
This is a part-time role with variable hours across the year. The appointment will be 0.3 FTE for 18 weeks during off-peak periods and 0.6 FTE for 34 weeks during peak teaching periods. For 2026, peak teaching periods are expected to run from Monday, 2 February to Friday, 29 May, and again from Monday, 22 June to Friday, 23 October. Dates may vary slightly each year to align with UWA’s academic calendar.

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency.
  • Strong technical experience in a teaching or research environment.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative approach.
  • Confident using IT systems including spreadsheets, databases, and online platforms.

Special Requirements

  • Specified roster of working weeks in line with peak periods (discussed with line manager).
  • This role involves physical tasks including lifting and manual handling.
  • Some after-hours work may be required.
