(HEO7) $101,785 - $113,839 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.

Full time, fixed term position available for 12 months.

Build strategic and proactive partnerships with academics and higher degree students to deliver library support for the University’s research activities. 

The successful applicant will contribute to research activities and will proactively build collaborative relationships across the University.  The promotion of priority services and delivering against the Library’s Research Support Framework will be fundamental to this role.

The Academic Librarian is responsible for enhancing liaison services to assist with scholarly and research productivity.  A key aspect of this role is to proactively engage with faculty and/or school staff, higher degree students and researchers to identify opportunities which support their research needs while providing specialist advice that contributes to the advancement of the Library’s strategic objectives. The role has both a strategic engagement and operational focus.

Please note: The role is currently in the University of Adelaide library structure as ‘Liaison Librarian’. In the Adelaide University structure this role is placed in the Researcher Support team and will be aligned as ‘Academic Librarian’.

To be successful you will need:

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, deliver and market information services in a higher education environment.
  • An understanding of contemporary and emerging pedagogical practice, digital capabilities and graduate attributes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of emerging trends in open access publishing and scholarly communication, impact measurements and research data management.
  • Experience in designing, leading and evaluating engaging information and research skills programs
  • Proven ability to proactively build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers ensuring customer needs are met.
  • Proven ability to actively contribute to a collaborative, dynamic team and implement change in the workplace.
  • Eligible for professional membership of ALIA or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote the organisational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discovery, and a commitment to positively comply with the associated behaviour expectations.
