About the Opportunity
We are seeking a visionary Head of Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) to lead WorkCover Queensland’s strategic portfolio and ensure alignment between enterprise-wide initiatives and our business goals. Reporting into the Chief People & Strategy Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing governance, financial oversight, and ensuring that strategic objectives are successfully translated into actionable projects across the organisation. You will play a critical role in driving the execution of WorkCover’s enterprise program, collaborating closely with the Head of Transformation Delivery and other senior stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and the successful delivery of key initiatives. What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the EPMO function, setting the vision, framework, and governance structures for strategic portfolio management, ensuring initiatives align with business goals and the corporate strategy.
- Work closely with the Chief People & Strategy Officer and Executive Leadership Team to align and prioritize strategic objectives with the execution of projects across the organisation.
- Develop and manage the portfolio planning process, ensuring initiatives are prioritized based on business value, resource capacity, and risk considerations.
- Establish robust portfolio governance frameworks and oversee compliance with regulatory and organisational standards.
- Drive transparency and accountability across the portfolio by providing clear reporting on portfolio performance, financials, risks, and benefit realization.
- Collaborate with the Head of Transformation Delivery to ensure that all projects are integrated effectively and executed according to business strategy.
- Oversee the continuous improvement of portfolio management processes by utilizing data-driven insights and feedback from stakeholders to enhance project delivery.
- Lead a high-performing EPMO team, fostering a culture of collaboration, performance, and innovation.
- Manage relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders to ensure alignment between strategy and execution, resolving challenges and driving performance.
- Lead change management initiatives across the portfolio, ensuring seamless communication and minimal disruption to business operations.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in business management, portfolio governance, and leading strategic initiatives within a complex or regulated environment.
- Strong qualifications in Business Management, Project Management, or related fields. Additional postgraduate qualifications would be highly regarded.
- Proven track record of successfully leading an EPMO function and delivering strategic initiatives in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
- Expertise in portfolio governance methodologies and tools, with strong experience in project and program management.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
- Exceptional ability to communicate, influence, and engage senior stakeholders at all levels.
- Deep financial acumen and the ability to manage and report on large budgets, ensuring alignment between strategy and portfolio investments.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the capacity to navigate ambiguity and manage complex challenges.
- Experience in a regulated financial services organisation or similar industry would be highly advantageous.
- Strong technical proficiency with portfolio management tools and Microsoft Office 365 (including Teams, Excel, and Power BI).
