We’re looking for a Manager - Fraud to join the Risk group.  

Reporting to the Head of Regulatory Integrity and participating in the Regulatory Integrity Division Leadership Team (RI DLT), the Manager - Fraud will ensure the collaboration across the function to enable our vision to be the best workers' compensation insurer and make a positive difference to people's lives. 

This is a critical role where you’ll lead fraud prevention, detection and response initiatives, managing complex investigations and driving proactive risk management aligned with legislative and organisational priorities. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Delivery transformation and continuous improvement projects, delivering outcomes within established timeframes, and quality standards. 

  • Lead and continuously improve WorkCover's fraud risk management framework. 

  • Oversee investigations into fraud and misconduct across the scheme, including workers, employers, providers and internal matters. 

  • Develop data-driven fraud mitigation strategies and lead high-performing investigation teams. 

  • Report to executive leadership and the Board on fraud risks, trends and compliance outcomes. 

  • Foster collaborative relationships with regulatory bodies and law enforcement agencies. 

  • Empower a safe and inclusive team environment within the Fraud function, focusing on engagement and high performance in line with People frameworks and policies, while driving initiatives for development and team cohesion. 

About you 

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Law, Criminology, or a related discipline, with postgraduate qualifications viewed as highly advantageous. 

  • Certificate IV in Government (Investigation) or equivalent investigative accreditation is highly desirable. Must hold professional memberships such as ACFE, CPA, IIA or similar. 

  • Demonstrated experience in leading, managing, and developing high-performing investigation teams, with a strong focus on fraud detection and prevention. 

  • Experience leading complex fraud investigations, including personal injury insurance, legal, financial services, fraud/criminal investigations, and/or complex workplace investigations. 

  • Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. Crime and Corruption Act, Public Sector Act). 

  • High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
