For every child, a Champion
The Private Sector Fundraising and Partnerships (PSFP) section within the Private Fundraising and Partnerships Division (PFP) plays a leadership role in the organization, working with National Committees and UNICEF Country and Regional offices to maximize financial and non-financial support for children. Given the scale and sophistication of PSFP’s work, the section requires surge capacity to support private sector engagement on Climate as well as coordination and project management support to implement the Private Sector Engagement Transformation Initiative (PSE Transformation), a strategic divisional initiative which aims to reshape how UNICEF engages with its private sector audiences.
Working within the Climate Partnerships team, the Fundraising Specialist will support private sector engagement and collaboration around UNICEF’s work on Climate as well as supporting the Chief, Market Development to manage key operational and planning functions crucial to the implementation of the PSE Transformation. The Fundraising Specialist may also provide operational and planning support on an additional surge capacity basis to relevant PSFP units, specifically around the annual meeting of Fundraising and Partnerships Directors.
How can you make a difference?
- Supports the annual workplan and budgeting process for the Climate Partnerships team; ensures effective management of financial resources, in compliance within UNICEF financial rules and regulations.
- Ensures effective sharing of work on Climate partnerships, including key learning and materials globally, through webinars, workshops, and online channels.
- Supports and maintains a private sector partnerships Climate community with stakeholders from across UNICEF as well as National Committees.
- Provides project management support to the implementation and socialization of the Private Sector Engagement Transformation Initiative.
- Plans and manages the annual meeting of UNICEF Fundraising & Partnerships Directors.
- Additional planning, project management, and coordination support to the PSFP Section where needed.
DELIVERABLES:
- Support the development of the Climate Partnerships plan and ensuring the achievement of private sector goals on Climate.
- Effective project management and coordination across UNICEF teams for a smooth and quality completion of deliverables related to the implementation of the Private Sector Engagement Transformation Initiative.
- Effective management of the agenda and follow-up, and effective delivery of the Fundraising and Partnerships Directors annual meeting in October.

Education:
- An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: Economics, Business Administration, Sociology, Political Science, Project Management, or other social science fields is required.
- Alternatively, a first-level University Degree in a relevant field in combination with 2 additional years of qualifying professional experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Experience:
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience is required.
- Experience in managing complex projects and supporting planning processes of large teams, especially in high-performing fundraising teams working.
- Experience in event management of large meetings, including online, in-person, and hybrid formats.
- Experience in senior leadership support, e.g., preparing briefing notes, developing presentations.
- Experience in the overview of budgets, preferably in large teams.
- Experience in office management e.g., overseeing diaries, prioritizing key work
- Proven ability to work across teams and with senior level management is an asset.
- Experience in the NGO sector/ for UNICEF and/or UN is an asset.
- Previous experience working directly with National Committees is an asset.
- Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is an asset.
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is an asset.
