Your new role at NewDay

We are looking for someone to lead our Cloud Security team to help us secure our modern cloud-native platform. You will help by facilitating work delivered by cloud security architects and engineers:

 

  • Helping to build and scale out a secure engineering culture, working with teams to embed secure engineering practices & secure-by-design principles
  • Reviewing the security posture of our cloud platform and identifying cloud security risks and issues, and working with our platform and product teams to improve our platform
  • Deliver clear recommendations for building security capabilities to deliver security policy and compliance objectives
  • Leading internal learning sessions, giving our security champions help and support to improve their security knowledge

0-12 months you’ll deliver

  • Review and build team processes
  • Maturity assessments of application security practices
  • Improving security culture and awareness program for Engineering
  • Delivery of security tooling
  • Securing critical business products and feature delivery

What you’ll bring We need knowledge, experience + expertise in:

  • Leading security engineering teams
  • Building secured paved roads for engineering teams to implement
  • Managing team ways of working and ownership of work items
  • Experience in financial services, regulated environments, consumer lending, payments, or card issuing
  • Planning and delivering roadmaps, contributing to our cloud security strategy
  • Good understanding of security risk management in a Cloud Security context, and of cloud security principles
  • Security and compliance frameworks and standards, e.g. PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, GDPR

And would love you to know or learn:

  • Security Architecture
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code
  • Proficiency in some of C#, .Net, Java, JavaScript/Typescript, Terraform
  • Knowledge of Azure, AWS, and Kubernetes cloud-native services
  • Securing GitOps and Continuous Deployment
  • Identity and Access Management, including securing privileged access
  • Threat Detection engineering
  • Relevant certifications such as SABSA, CISSP, CCSK, AZ-500
