Sourcing (Procurement) Specialist, Finance & Operations 

Working at our iconic office in Kings Cross, London, and virtually via Microsoft Teams 

Your new role at NewDay 

Part of a successful Sourcing function, working independently and alongside Senior Sourcing Specialists to deliver value add Procurement services to the business. You’ll act as a gateway to Procurement, taking on a new aspect to the role where you’ll be the first point of contact for your assigned Business Functions.  

You will direct and triage procurement requests and depending on the spend and risk profile of the request, you will then either directly lead the request through to conclusion or ensure the request is seamlessly assigned to another member of the team.  

Procurement requests will include everything along the supplier lifecycle from supporting the business with new supplier needs through to supplier exits. Key to the role will be contributing to the company’s cost to income ratio by ensuring maximum value is achieved from suppliers. You’ll run and mitigate supplier risk via negotiating adequate contract coverage. 

You’ll deliver 

  • Act as “go-to” contact for Business functions, directly advising on required processes and correct Procurement contact points.
  • Triage and digitally handle new supplier on-boarding requests, ensuring accurate risk identification and Procurement pathway.

  • Lead commercial and contract negotiation for “standard” new supplier onboards and ensure completion of the supplier on-boarding and contract execution process. 

  • Lead contract renewals for “standard” suppliers, ensuring supplier risk profiles are validated and contracts remediated, as necessary. 

  • Complete SOW extensions ensuring governance checks are completed. 

  • Management and execution of NDA’s. 

  • Develop and deliver Sourcing category plans for “Leverage” supply categories. 

  • Support Senior Sourcing Specialists on “Strategic” Procurement matters. 

  • Actively identify and deliver supplier savings in line with individual and team savings targets. 

  • Produce and maintain Sourcing team MI including Supplier spend and contract expiry data. 

  • Act as a PO gatekeeper in Purchase2Pay system for selected suppliers. 

  • Maintaining and improving Sourcing team procedures and process documentation. 

  • Help develop, deliver and train business functions on new Procurement processes. 

What you’ll bring  

We need knowledge, experience + expertise in: 

  • Procurement must include reviewing contracts and contract negotiation 

  • Degree (or equivalent) or experience of a Procurement Graduate scheme 

  • Proven interpersonal and relationship building skills 

  • Understanding of Sourcing processes and Procurement risks

  • Financial Services or Regulated Industry 

  • Procurement process development and implementation 

  • AI and Procurement 

  • Medius (formerly Wax Digital) S2C modules and DocuSign
