Your new role at NewDay
As a Senior Android Engineer you will develop innovative Android applications for our own brands and our partners. Key contributor to mobile design and architecture to deliver outstanding apps. We expect engineers to have the desire of curiosity, passion, a driven, enthusiastic mentality, to be proficient in algorithms, problem solving, and crafting scalable, resilient, and crash-free Android apps. Effective communication is an attribute we care deeply about, as an engineer you and your team will move in a fast-paced engineering environment to achieve outstanding results.
You’ll deliver
- You will Architect, design, build, and deliver world-class Android applications
- Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and other colleagues to seek exciting and results-oriented problems for delivering value
- Write code that is not just clear and maintainable but scales with our ambitious goals.
- Drive technical mastery by mentoring fellow engineers through code reviews and pair programming.
- Revamp team processes and champion continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead by example in the development and advocacy of best practices, shaping the success of the entire team.
What you’ll bring
We need knowledge, experience + expertise in:
- Proven track record in crafting top-tier, crash-free Android applications.
- Mastery of the Android SDK, demonstrated through robust experience.
- Firm grasp of design patterns and adherence to SOLID principles for scalable solutions.
- Proficiency in Kotlin & Compose, with a flair for innovative development.
- Hands-on expertise in integrating RESTful services into Android applications.
- Ability to write Kotlin code that is both readable and maintainable, following best practices.
- Extensive experience in implementing complex Android applications that push boundaries.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies, ensuring adaptability and efficiency in project delivery.
And would love you to know or learn:
- Experience designing and building highly-quality and reliable Android apps that meet the demands of millions of users
- Experience in mobile testing strategies
- Hands-on experience with Google Play Console
- Experience with GraphQL
- Experience in FinTech
- Experience in consumer lending or credit card issuing
