Senior Payroll Manager 

Working at either our office in King’s Cross, London, or Morley, Leeds, and virtually via Microsoft Teams 

Your new role at NewDay  

Driver of the next phase in our Payroll evolution, you’ll be accountable for the delivery of 2x monthly payrolls, including HMRC requirements. 

Together with a Payroll Specialist reporting into you, ensuring they have the skills, competencies and development to deliver an exceptional colleague experience across the business. 

You’ll deliver 

  • Company payrolls including yearend submissions, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements, and dealing with any subsequent queries. 

  • Payroll processes and first line support effectively within agreed SLAs. 

  • Objective setting, Performance Reviews and Personal Development Plans. 

  • Thought leadership; ensuring forward planning for all legislative changes, are effectively implemented. 

  • Governance and audit compliance, identifying risks, ensuring appropriate and relevant controls are in place and attesting to these each month.  

  • Working with the People Systems to ensure they are fit for purpose. 

  • Positive relationships with colleagues, specifically People Managers and key stakeholders. 

What you’ll bring 

We need knowledge, experience + expertise in:    

  • In-house, technical payroll & benefits 

  • Workday Payroll 

  • Developing and implementing procedures and running operational processes; identifying and implementing improvements. 

  • Excellent attention to detail with an analytical mind-set. 

  • Prioritising workloads and effective delegating whilst giving impactful feedback and coaching. 

  • Managing multiple stakeholder relationships with conflicting deadlines and providing regular communication on current and future priorities.
