We have an exciting opportunity at our Taren Point office for a motivated and driven Full Time Solar Design Engineer (Electrical Engineer).

The Design Engineer will play a pivotal role in the design and documentation of residential solar systems, providing crucial support to our installation team.   

Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000 per annum (depending upon skills and experience)

Location:  Taren Point, Sydney NSW

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Design, develop and engineer electrical systems for solar PV solutions, including rooftop, ground-mounted, and hybrid/off-grid systems
• Perform electrical load calculations and analyse energy consumption data to design systems that meet client requirements.
• Interpret drawings and specifications and create detailed technical documentations for project execution and procurement.
• Conduct electrical simulations and feasibility studies on existing solar installations to maximize system efficiency, performance and return on investment (ROI).
• Generate comprehensive Work Orders for installers, including Voltage Rise calculations and Single Line Diagrams and manage installation schedules.
• Design and select electrical components such as solar panels, inverters, batteries, and mounting structures, electrical wiring
• Oversee installations of battery storage system, panels and electrical components
• Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely and accurate sourcing of materials
• Enforce electrical safety and quality standards in accordance with AS/NZS and WHS regulations
• Assist in the development of proposals and technical presentations for client meetings, focusing on the electrical engineering aspects of the solar PV systems.

Requirements

• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in digital marketing including SEO and PPC campaign execution and strategy
• A minimum of bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field.
• At least one year of Australian proven experience in a similar role
• Demonstrated ability to manage multi-channel digital marketing campaigns and deliver measurable results.

Skills and attributes

• Minimum bachelor’s in electrical engineering
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role within the Solar Industry.
• SAA design accreditation for grid connected.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite/Office 365, AutoCAD (essential) and PVSyst.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical and structural engineering principles as applied to solar energy systems.
• Familiarity with local permitting processes and building codes related to solar installations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to thrive in a diverse team environment.
• Dedication to achieving company and team objectives.
• Ability to function effectively in a multi-disciplined, multi-skilled work environment as a collaborative team player.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Driven to deliver high-quality outcomes for clients.
• Previous design and operations support experience is desirable.
• Relevant Australian work experience is essential
