About This Role:

The HVAC Technician is part of a team that services, maintains, diagnoses problems, and repairs air conditioning systems and refrigeration equipment in order to provide a safe, well maintained, comfortable living, learning, and working environment for students, residents, faculty, staff and guests of Kansas State University.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Diagnoses problems and repairs commercial equipment including walk/in freezers, upright/chest type refrigerators, ice machines, milk machines, ice cream machines and water coolers.
- Checks, conducts and follows preventive maintenance schedule on highly technical chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, vacuum pumps and related controls and equipment in a large complex of residence halls.
- Installs, services, and maintains energy management systems, HVAC, air conditioning and heat pump systems and equipment in a variety of large residence halls and foodservice facilities.
- Services electrical and plumbing components related to refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
- Performs other duties including recordkeeping, organizing tools. Participates in work activities as a productive and engaged team member.
