Transfer Navigators
About This Role
Transfer Navigators work to provide timely resources and services for prospective and admitted transfer students to Kansas State University by serving as a transition coach and assisting with the execution of strategic enrollment activities. Transfer Navigators will serve as the primary point of contact for prospective transfer applicants, providing them with essential information, guidance, and support throughout the admission process. They will be available to answer questions, provide resources, and offer personalized assistance to address individual concerns. Transfer Navigators will assist prospective transfer students in evaluating their prior coursework and determining how it aligns with Kansas State University academic programs. They will work closely with academic departments to streamline the degree audit process, ensuring that transfer students receive timely and accurate evaluations of their credits. Transfer Navigators will play a crucial role in facilitating a seamless hand-off of students to academic advisors at Kansas State University. They will work collaboratively with academic advisors to ensure that transfer students have a smooth transition and are well-prepared for their academic journey at our institution. Applicants must reside in the Garden City, Kansas area and serve the Western Kansas community colleges.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

One year of relevant experience. This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager. Educational equivalency means that education and experience may be combined to fulfill the minimum qualifications. Preferred Qualifications:
-
Master’s degree with an emphasis on Academic Advising, Adult and Continuing Education, College Student Development, Counseling and Student Development or other related academic degree

Three (3) or more years of experience advising students in a higher education environment

Experience working in the community college setting or working directly with transfer students

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent organization skills, and the ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment.

Strong social and communication skills and the ability to engage with others of diverse backgrounds.

Possess a high level of energy and is able to work under strict deadlines. Self-motivation, a team attitude, and a consistent commitment to a high standard of excellence are preferred.

Demonstrated proficiency with technology and multiple computer programs (i.e. Microsoft Office including knowledge of Excel, customer relationship manager software) and efficient use of e-mail.

Native or near-native Spanish language proficiency is helpful.
