Job description:

Take a lead role in supporting the medication safety portfolio within the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH).

The Role:

Support hospital-wide and statewide multidisciplinary activities and programs that improve medication safety.
Take a lead role in supporting the medication safety portfolio within the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH).
Provide strategic advice and professional support to the Pharmacy Manager - Safe Medication Practice and Pharmacy
Manager in relation to medication management and medication safety.

You will need:

  • Detailed understanding of Commonwealth and State medication and pharmacy-related practice standards and a strong understanding of contemporary hospital pharmacy practice drawn from experience and interstate networks.
  • Proven experience in an acute hospital pharmacy service, and demonstrated teamwork, analytical and creative skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the contemporary medication safety agenda across Australian acute hospitals, including the Australian hospital accreditation framework and safety and quality frameworks.

Details of appointment:

fixed term, Part Time, day worker position, working 38 hours per fortnight, 1 July 2025 until 31 December 2025.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Classification: Allied Health Professional Level 4, Year 2.

Salary: $123,717 to $138,296 per annum pro rata. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Allowances: 

  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $130,900 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.
  • Pharmacy market allowance of up to $10,000 per annum.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Pharmacy Board of Australia or completion of an overseas qualification eligible for skills assessment through the Australian Pharmacy Council.
  • Registered with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
  • For pre-registration (intern) pharmacists: Eligible for provisional registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.

*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
