The Role:
As a member of the Office of the Deputy Secretary, demonstrating a high degree of initiative and confidentiality, the Policy Officer is expected to work under direction within the Office of the Deputy Secretary to support the management and coordination of the office.
The Policy Officer will undertake a broad variety of tasks including coordinating and preparing highly confidential, complex documentation, undertaking research for briefings and background notes, minute taking, preparation of correspondence, organisation and scheduling of meetings and travel, and participation in project work as required.
You will need to:
- Coordinate, collate and report on Ministerial correspondence for the Unit including liaison with all staff and the Office of the Secretary regarding content, quality assurance and timeliness of draft responses.
- Prepare correspondence, reports and/or briefing notes.
- Consult and liaise with a variety of stakeholders in relation to the implementation of activity and project outcomes.
- Conduct research and analysis, either individually or in conjunction with more senior staff, provide solutions on a variety of work related issues, and develop proposals and put forward recommendations.
- Provide high level secretariat support to committees.

Details of Appointment
Fixed term full time, day worker/ position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible until 31 March 2026.

Classification: General Stream Band 4
Salary $81,915 - $94,263 per annum + 12% superannuation
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
