Job description:
Lead and manage complex investigations of forest practices across the State, and to assist the FPA Operations Manager and compliance team with promoting compliance with legislation through enforcement actions, strategic oversight and collaboration with regulatory bodies, other agencies and stakeholders.

Period of Appointment
Appointment to the role is on a fixed term flexible basis (up to 73.5 hours per fortnight) for 12 months.
Duties
- Lead, plan and conduct high-level investigations into forest practices non-compliance, including gathering and analysing evidence in accordance with legal and procedural requirements.
- Prepare detailed investigation reports to support regulatory enforcement actions, including prosecution briefs.
- Monitor and assess compliance trends and identify high-risk areas or matters and proactively develop strategies to address non-compliance.
- Work closely with other FPA programs as well as forest practices officers and external stakeholders to improve compliance.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of investigative procedures and policies to enhance regulatory enforcements capabilities.
- Provide advice and training on forest practices regulation to forest practices officers and other relevant parties.
- Other duties as directed by Manager Operations.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience working in a government regulatory agency or qualifications in environmental science, regulatory compliance or a related field.
- High level knowledge and understanding of principles of sustainable forest management and investigation procedures.
- Current driver’s licence.
