Job description:
Be a part of a client and outcomes-focussed team in Skills Tasmania. Provide user support and acceptance testing for key systems, assistance with regular data submissions for VET statistical collections, analysis for data queries, stakeholder engagement and input to policy and program development as needed in relation to the Tasmanian training and workforce development system.
You will deliver user, data and systems support services that support the delivery of programs and projects to industry, employers, registered training organisations and community stakeholders.
The role requires a client centric approach and a relationship management focus for internal and external clients and stakeholders, and will contribute to Skills Tasmania’s Core Systems Replacement Project.

Period of Appointment
Appointment to the role is on a fixed term flexible basis (up to 73.5 hours per fortnight) for 12 months.
Duties
Work both collaboratively and with independence, judgement and initiative to:
- Assist with management and administration of Skills Tasmania’s data systems for, training contract administration, VET payments, data collection and provision of user information; including the liaison with key stakeholders to coordinate user support, system maintenance and testing, and assist with the resolution of technical and operational systems issues. Provide user support services for the eVET user portal for accessing training contract information.
- Undertake stakeholder consultation, research and data analysis, and contribute to performance monitoring outputs, ad hoc data queries and other high quality operational advice for internal clients, the executive and Ministers on matters related to the Tasmanian and national workforce development and training systems.
- Co-ordinate reporting and information requests and manage team responses to internal and external stakeholders.
- Engage with stakeholders within the Department, other Government agencies, and at internal and external forums or working groups, on a range of training and workforce development issues as needed.
- Assist with the quarterly data submissions for the national apprentice and trainee collection and VET Provider collection. Oversee regular data collection and reporting for the Tasmanian Government Building and Construction Policy, monitoring monthly training activity against policy objectives, interacting with policy stakeholders and providing briefings to program and data managers and executives as needed.
- The role will provide input to Skills Tasmania’s core systems replacement project, assisting with the co-design of new CSRP data reporting solutions, requirements and tools as needed.
- Other tasks as required by Skills Tasmania and as directed by the Manager, Insights, Analysis and Systems.
