Job description:

The role leads projects and programs that help build organisational capability, improve workplace culture, and support positive change across the department.

Period of Appointment

Appointment to the role is on a fixed term flexible basis (up to 73.5 hours per fortnight) for 12 months.

Duties

  • Provide expert advice to the Director People and Culture, the People and Culture branch and other stakeholders on culture enhancement, organisational capability and diversity and inclusion strategies using current practice and State Service policies and frameworks.
  • Lead and support the Culture and Capability team, develop and oversee the work program and build internal capability and knowledge.
  • Work closely with the Manager Safety and Wellbeing and co-lead the creation and implementation of the department’s combined Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) and Wellbeing annual Action Plan.
  • Manage key projects and initiatives that improve workplace culture, capability and DEI, making sure they are delivered on time and within assigned resources and budget.
  • Research and keep up to date with new trends in workplace culture, capability and DEI.
  • Be part of the People and Culture leadership team, helping shape the branch’s work program and identifying ways to improve service delivery.
  • Build strong relationships inside and outside of the department and represent the department in relevant whole of government forums.
  • Write clear and professional reports, briefings, presentations and promotional material to different audiences.

Desirable Requirements

  • Successful completion of tertiary qualification in human resources management and/or organisational development or a related field.
