Details of Appointment
Fixed term for a period from 1 September 2025 to 27 April 2026, or until the substantive returns to the position.

Working Environment
Tasmania Prison Service (TPS) has prison facilities located at Risdon Vale, Hobart and Launceston in Tasmania. This position is based at Risdon Vale. The Risdon Vale site offers a corporate working environment without the hustle and bustle of city centre offices, free on-site parking and access to the on-site staff gym (or head across the road to Risdon Brook Dam for a walk at lunch time).

Duties
- Provide leadership, broad oversight and management of the Rehabilitation and Reintegration Teams that are responsible for case management, assessment and sentence planning, interventions programs and reintegration. Responsible for the management of complex human resources within the broader team.
- Provide leadership, oversight and development of the Senior Clinician staff who lead the Rehabilitation and Reintegration teams that provide assessment, interventions and reintegration services to prisoners.
- Undertake clinical supervision of senior staff, including the provision of high level professional advice to Senior Clinicians on the operation of their areas and the management of more junior staff.
- Develop and implement appropriate models to evaluate sentence management loads and intervention outcomes.
- Undertake research into contemporary criminogenic training and reintegration programs, governance and assessment processes, case management practices, criminogenic and non-criminogenic program delivery options and related emerging trends and strategies. Utilise this knowledge in strategic planning and in the development of policies and procedures.
- Provide oversight and quality assurance of all programs and case management delivered both internally and by external providers.
Essential Requirements
- A degree of at least 3 years duration in Psychology, Social Work or Counselling or equivalent as provided by a recognised university.

Desirable Requirements
- A degree or post graduate qualification in Health Science, Education, Social Science, Psychology, Social Welfare or Social Work.
- Significant post graduate work experience in a relevant field.
- Registration or ability to be registered as a psychologist in Tasmania.
