Job description:

Provide authoritative and strategic advice to the Board, Minister and Secretary on matters relating to Waste and Resource Recovery policy and strategies for Tasmania.

Duties

  • Provide authoritative and strategic advice to the Board, Minister and Secretary on matters relating to Waste and Resource Recovery policy and strategies for Tasmania.
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction as both CEO of the Tasmanian Waste and Resource Recovery Board and General Manager of the Waste and Resource Recovery Business Unit within the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania (NRE Tas).
  • Oversee the implementation of the Tasmanian Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy, driving innovation and circular economy outcomes for Tasmania.
  • Strengthen governance, partnerships, and policy influence across government, industry and the community to deliver effective waste and resource recovery outcomes.

Desirable Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstration of an equivalent level of skills together with experience at a senior management level.
  • Completion of Australian Institute of Company Directors program or similar.
  • Previous experience as CEO of a Board or in reporting to a Board.
