Job description:

Skills and Workforce supports the development of a skilled and adaptive Tasmanian workforce to ensure that industry and employers have access to skills that meet current and future demands. As part of a small client-focussed team this role provides a comprehensive level of client services, administrative and program co-ordination support.

Period of Appointment

Appointment to the role is on a fixed term, full-time basis, for 12 months. 

Duties

  • Manage the Office of the General Manager and provide broad administrative support to the General Manager and contribute to high levels of client and stakeholder services, including intra-departmental co-ordination, ministerial administration and client liaison.
  • Liaise with department staff to ensure the timely preparation of correspondence, briefings, speeches and other documents, including the co-ordination of Skills and Workforce’s Question Time Briefs and Estimates Briefings.
  • Regularly liaise with government agencies, industry bodies and business enterprises on specific workforce development and training matters.
  • Co-ordinate meetings between external and internal stakeholders and working groups including setting agendas, minute taking and logistics management.
  • Proofread and quality assure correspondence, briefings, meeting agendas, minutes and other documents.
  • Undertake specific projects, including event management, workshop preparation and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in business processes, information systems, data management, practices, procedures, organisation and equipment.
