Job description:

Leading the administration of the Tasmanian Government’s National Redress Scheme for Institutional Child Sexual Abuse.

Period of Appointment

Fixed term for 12 (twelve) months

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available. 

Duties

  • Provide leadership, support, and guidance for the administration of the Tasmanian Government’s participation in the National Redress Scheme for Institutional Child Sexual Abuse and to ensure the timely delivery of institutional requirements of the National Redress Scheme.
  • Coordinating activities to support the Tasmanian Government to fulfil its obligations as a participating institution under the National Redress Scheme for Institutional Child Sexual Abuse Act 2018 (Cth) and related policy frameworks.
  • Coordinating systems to meet the regular reporting requirements of the National Redress Scheme.
  • Provide support for the delivery of Redress Support Services, including the Approved Counselling and Psychological Care (CPC) and Direct Personal Response (DPR) frameworks on behalf of the Tasmanian Government, including client liaison, liaison with service providers and support for nominated senior officials across government.
  • To prepare written advice to the Director, Agency Executive, Ministers and key stakeholders in relation to a wide range of routine and complex policy and legislative issues relating to the Tasmanian Government’s participation in the National Redress Scheme.
  • To undertake duties as allocated by the Director, Victims of Crime Assistance and Redress consistent with the functions of the Victims of Crime Assistance and Redress Output and that are within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying the position at this classification level.

Essential Requirements

  • A Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People.

Desirable Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field.

  1. Pre-employment (National Police Record) checks for: Arson and fire setting, violent crimes and crimes against the person, sex-related offences, drug and alcohol related offences, crimes involving dishonesty, deception and/or conspiracy, making false declarations, malicious damage and destruction to property, serious traffic offences, crimes against public order or relating to the Administration of Law and Justice, Executive or the Legislative Power.
  2. Disciplinary action in previous employment.
  3. Identification check.
