Job description:

To develop, deliver and implement a strategic, program-wide approach to engagement and managing stakeholder risk with key industry, community and other stakeholder groups across State Roads programs and projects. Provide high level support to the Manager Stakeholder Communications in developing and delivering the strategic direction for State Roads Division stakeholder engagement.

Period of Appointment

Appointment to the role is on a fixed term flexible basis (up to 73.5 hours per fortnight) for 12 months.

Duties

  • Design, develop and implement proactive engagement plans to support effective and professional stakeholder engagement with key industry, community and other target stakeholder groups.
  • Provide advice and strategies to manage stakeholder issues, and advise on the development and delivery of strategies created by consultants and contractors
  • Develop, improve, manage and review appropriate systems, policies, processes and procedures to support effective and efficient stakeholder engagement activities in line with the Stakeholder and Community Engagement Framework.
  • Collaborate with stakeholder engagement specialists across the Transport Group to facilitate consistency in approach, process, delivery and audit of stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Work with the Manager Stakeholder Communications and Team Leader Stakeholder Engagement to support continuous improvement in stakeholder engagement skills of staff, consultants and contractors.
  • Monitor the environment that Transport group operates within and maintain an awareness of matters that should be considered in the group’s stakeholder engagement, as part of a holistic approach to transport problem solving.  
  • Develop strategies to promote diversity, equity and inclusion in State Roads’ interaction with its stakeholders.

Desirable Requirements

  • A current full car driver licence
  • Qualifications in stakeholder engagement and/or experience in stakeholder engagement and communications activities.
