Job description:

Work in schools as a member of a multi-disciplinary Learning Service Support Team to provide a social work service which supports students and families. In particular provide support within the assigned network of schools in relation to child well-being and support for children in relation to issues of child protection. Contribute to capacity building of school communities to improve access, participation and achievement of students. Provide high level advice to the Department about specific school social work duties and undertake leadership in the form of supervision or leading best practice within the Social Work team or in the school context as required, as directed by the senior and/or Supervisor.

Applications for this EoI are restricted to existing fixed-term and permanent employees within the Tasmanian State Service in accordance with Managing Positions in the State Service 2016 and Employment in the State Service - Employment Direction No. 1.

Duties

Period of Appointment

ASAP for 6 months

Applicants should be aware that for twelve (12) months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill any subsequent full-time or part-time vacancies in accordance with Employment Direction 1.

Hours per fortnight

45.6 hours per fortnight

Essential Requirements

  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment)
  • Tertiary qualification/program of study accredited by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and is a full member of AASW or is eligible for membership with the AASW.
  • A current driver's licence.
