Position Summary
The Office of the Hannah Chair at Michigan State University is seeking a talented and highly motivated Data Analyst to support the Education Innovation & Research (EIR) Project and other data analytics projects. This position offers the opportunity to work on advanced data architecture, emotional engagement analytics, educational games development, data collection, interactive dashboard development, and predictive modeling in a collaborative research environment.
The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in research collaboration, writing research papers, data collection, pipeline automation, data visualization, and advanced statistical analysis. Candidates must have experience managing large-scale survey datasets, multilevel bayesian modeling, game development, and building interactive dashboards for real-time analytics. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically strong, thrives in a fast-paced research environment, and has a passion for education and innovation.
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing one or two years of post-bachelor degree work, such as a Master's in Educational Administration, Statistics, Economics or Research Methodology; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in research design, statistical methods and knowledge of computer hardware and software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
· Master’s degree (or nearing completion) in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Educational Psychology, or a related field.
· Prior experience in working with experience-sampling method and examining students’ persistence, engagement and/or other social-emotional factors.
· Previous publication experience or contributions to academic manuscripts.
· Strong problem-solving skills, communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
